UFCW Local 400 member Margaret “Peggy” Kane, RN has been awarded the David Lawrence Community Service Award by the Labor Management Partnership, a coalition of Kaiser Permanente and Kaiser Permanente unions. The award recognizes individuals and groups across the Kaiser Permanente regions "who champion outstanding community service activities and initiatives demonstrating extraordinary efforts to improve the health of our communities around access, environment and knowledge." Kane won the award for devoting her professional and personal time to helping cancer patients and their families. An oncology nurse for more than 30 years, Kane regularly volunteers her time, talent, and expertise to multiple cancer-focused organizations in the Mid-Atlantic States region.
