Dozens of union members from across the region participated in the AFL-CIO's "Path to Power" candidate training last Saturday. Participants learned the basic anatomy of campaigns, developed tools to build effective campaign messages, learned how to create fundraising plans and programs, and many other critical components needed to successfully run for public office. "The 2018 elections are right around the corner, and we need more people running who will champion the interests of working people and our communities," said Carlos Jimenez, Executive Director for the Metro Washington Council.
