![]() "Great piece on the UFCW members who worked through the blizzard," writes Jess Speaker III, Business Representative at SAG-AFTRA Washington-Mid Atlantic. "Another group that deserves a big thank you are the TV and radio broadcasters who are represented by the Washington-Mid Atlantic Local of SAG-AFTRA. The news never stops and when a storm the magnitude of January’s blizzard hits, it is important to keep the public abreast of the driving conditions, school closures, power outages and updates from state and local government. These men and women -- journalists, on and off-air: anchors, reporters, writers, editors, producers, meteorologists and so on -- worked long hours in the studio and in the field bringing those who were inside updates from the dangerous roads and snow covered neighborhoods. Like many others who had to work through the storm, they worked long hours and had to be away from their loved ones and their warm homes to make sure they could bring us the late breaking news of Blizzard 2016. Thank you for all you do!" photo: NBC4’s Tom Sherwood, a SAG-AFTRA member. Comments are closed.
