Union Voice/Readers Write: Fast, But Not That Fast; Wrong Skills Links; Where’s the Mural?12/8/2015
![]() Fast, But Not That Fast: “'Today in Labor History' is wrong,” writes Ray Wake (Roofers 112, Springfield, IL). “It was two and a half hours to build a car in 1913 (our 12/1 item said it took two and half minutes). I saw it just last night on the History Channel’s ‘Men that Built This Nation’.” Wrong Skills Links: “I went to click on the links on today’s Union City under 'Union Skills Course Schedule Released' and none of them seem to work,” writes David Fernández-Barrial (AFSCME Local 2910). Great catch; the links have been corrected and updated. Where’s the Mural? “Any idea where the mural in this photo might be?” wonders JonGarlock (Rochester Labor Council, labor historian and UC editor Chris Garlock’s dad). UAW President Walter Reuther is standing in front of the WPA-era mural known as "Ford Riot" located at UAW Local 174 in Romulus, MI -- Reuther's home local. From the UAW's Pinterest page.
