AFL-CIO MLK Labor Economic Policy and Advocacy Summit: Friday, Jan. 13, 12:30pm – 4:30pm at the AFL-CIO. Free and open to all; RSVP here or click here for more on the entire AFL-CIO Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civil and Human Rights Awards Luncheon and Community Service Weekend. 

"Gonna Take Us All MLK Holiday Ball"
 on Sunday, Jan. 15: "The arc of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dancing, drinksand light refreshments. $35 per person or $300 per table of 10. Click here for tickets.   

New calendar add: Annual MLK "I Have a Dream" march in Leesburg, VA
 on Monday, Jan. 16, 10:00am – 11:30am. Loudoun County Courthouse Market and King Streets Leesburg, Virginia. Representatives from NoVA Labor will participate in this annual event, marching behind the NoVA Labor banner.

Accomodations:
 If out-of-town friends need reasonably-priced guest rooms for the upcoming Women's March on Washington, check out the Tommy Douglas Conference Center (formerly the National Labor College). The Center has 160 newly-renovated guest rooms, WIFI, fitness center, recreation room, lounge and parking (car and bus), just minutes from two metro stations and only 10 miles to the National Mall.
