Labor’s turnout efforts made the difference in Kathleen Murphy’s election Tuesday night as the new VA Delegate from the 34th District, says NoVA Labor President Dan Duncan. “It was all due to the phone calls and door knocking our labor brothers and sisters did to turn out the vote on such a bad weather day!” said Duncan. “When our members are educated on the issues and the candidates, they go out and vote! Labor can make a difference.”
That difference will be called on again in Richmond, where there’s just a week to go in the effort to elect union member Kevin Sullivan in the 74th District special election. Anyone interested in helping should contact Julie Hunter at 804-755-8001. “Then we can rest until July, when we start gearing up for this year's big election!” Duncan promises.
