![]() One of the most celebrated and significant plays of the modern American theatre, “Waiting For Lefty,” by Clifford Odets, begins a limited run this weekend at Montgomery College. Set in the Depression era and dealing with the cynical exploitation of the working classes, the play is directed by David Rothman, who proudly declares “I’m a union man” in his program notes. “Some contend that Waiting For Lefty is dated and is not as relevant as it once was,” Rothman adds. “Some contend that unions have lost their relevance and effectiveness. On both counts I disagree.” “Waiting for Lefty” runs November 6th & 7th, 13th & 14th @8pm, and November 8th & 15th @ 2pm; $10 general admission; $5 students. Click here for ticket info.
