![]() Despite the frigid cold, over 1,000 people showed up last week to rally on the steps of West Virginia’s capitol building to protest anti-worker legislation. Groups like UFCW Local 400 have been lobbying to preserve the prevailing wage and to oppose so-called “right-to-work” laws. Last Thursday, a public hearing was held in the House chamber on SB 361, which attacks the prevailing wage and would slash wages for workers in the Mountain State. Even Senator and former governor Joe Manchin attended the hearing to make his case against the anti-worker bill. Over 100 UFCW 400 stewards, along with UFCW Local 23 members, have making office visits to their state legislators in addition to the rallying efforts. photo courtesy WV Workers Facebook page Comments are closed.
