Nurses at the Washington Hospital Center (WHC) are urging Medstar Health board members to listen to their patient safety concerns and come to a fair agreement on a contract that protects patients and nurses through safe staffing...
Medstar owns WHC. Nurses – who belong to National Nurses United -- recently wrote letters directly to board members and on Wednesday a delegation visited the office of one board member, Rosie Allen-Herring, President and CEO of the United Way of the National Capital Area, in an unsuccessful attempt to talk to her about their concerns. The nurses then handed out flyers accusing Allen-Herring of being “Missing in action” to passersby outside her office.
