President Obama will host a “Summit on Worker Voice” at the White House onOctober 7, to highlight the “connection between workers having a voice on the job and a thriving middle class.” Local unions are encouraged to host a “watch party” for the event, which can be watched live via the White House web page; click here for details on how. Working with affiliates and partner organizations, the AFL-CIO has urged the White House to focus on the benefits of collective bargaining, as well as the obstacles workers face when they engage in collective action.
