WHUR's Daily Drum program hosted a conversation about women in nontraditional occupations and apprenticeship on Wednesday with Apprentice Rochelle Walker, Pre-Apprentice Krystal Wilcox, and Jennifer Gajdosik, Case Manager for the Community Services Agency's Building Futures program. Click here to listen to the program. "Carpenters, plumbers, electricians, when you're thinking about those pictures in your mind, you're probably thinking about a man in a hardhat and steel-toed boots," said Gajdosik. "And we're trying to change that image. Walker, a 3rd-year Painters apprentice -- and an advisory committee member of Women in the Trades -- added that "I think there's a recognition that diversity of gender in the workplace is really a strength for everybody."
