Applications for the nation’s premiere political entrepreneurship training program for progressives – the New Leaders Council (NLC) Institute – are now open. Young union leaders interested in becoming a part of the 2015 class of NLC DC Chapter Fellows are encouraged to attend the NLC DC Preview on October 1 at the AFL-CIO. Learn about the NLC Institute, what it means to be an NLC Fellow and how to apply; click here to RSVP.

“New Leaders Council is a nationally-recognized political entrepreneurship training program for young professionals looking for the skills, the network and the training they need to make a lasting impact in their communities,” says ILCA Vice President and International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAM) member LaToya Egwuekwe-Smith, a graduate of the NLC DC class of 2014. “For young union members like myself, it’s an opportunity to build your skills as a labor activist alongside like-minded individuals from across many different sectors – politics, business, nonprofit, international advocacy and more.” For more information, visit www.newleaderscouncil.org.  Applications for the 2015 NLC Institute must be submitted by Tuesday, November 11, 2014.
