(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Sometimes a meal is the best gift of all.
Members of the DC chapter of the Coalition of
Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) this holiday
season raised cash and provided $1,120 worth of
gift cards from the unionized Giant Food and
Shoppers Food and Pharmacy. The cards
have been distributed through the Community
Services Agency’s (CSA) Holiday Basket
project to area working families in need.
“We so appreciate the generosity of local
CBTU members,” said CSA’s Kathleen McKirchy

from CBTU-DC Chapter President Gwend Johnson
yesterday. “We have been able to make many
families happy this holiday season because of
this effort on CBTU’s part.” - photo by Chris
