Big Actions from Annapolis to the District
Tuesday, January 10, 2012
(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Mark your calendar now for two big don’t-miss
actions coming up in the local labor scene. On
Martin Luther King Jr. Day (this coming
Monday) the Maryland State and District
of Columbia AFL-CIO is planning a Rally
for Jobs, Justice and Equality on Lawyers
Mall in Annapolis, MD. Then, in early February,
the Conservative Political Action Conference
(CPAC) is coming to DC featuring Wisconsin
Governor Scott Walker as a keynote speaker.
“Last year we made sure workers voices were
heard against Governor Walker’s anti-worker
legislation” said Metro Council President Jos
Williams. “This February we’re going to
show him the District continues to defend
workers’ rights and that his anti-worker
legislation is not welcome here.” CPAC is
happening from February 9 to 11. Stay tuned for
further details. - photo of May 9, 2011 rally in DC
