DC Support Urged for Indiana Battle Against "Right To Work"
Thursday, January 26, 2012
(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)With so-called “Right to Work” legislation
actively being moved in the Indiana House and
Senate, the DC-area labor movement is swinging
into action. “If we don’t succeed in
Indiana, RTW will spread like a cancer across
state lines,” warns the AFL-CIO, urging local
support to help reinforce Indiana’s troops.
Here are ways to help: offer to turn on and
staff an existing phone bank that is not
currently being used; send busloads of
members/activists to an Indiana lobby day;
release a staff member to the field program;
send funds to: A Working Person Like You, 1701
W. 18th St., Indianapolis, IN 46202. Contact
Diane Ebenreiter at 920-912-2249, debenrei@aflcio.org
to coordinate any of the above activities.
