DC COPE Report: Hard Work Pays Off in Ward 5
Friday, May 18, 2012
(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Winning by a landslide, Kenyan McDuffie took
nearly 45% of the vote in this Tuesday's Ward 5
Special Election. Labor spent the past several
weeks getting out the vote in support of
McDuffie by sending out mailings, phone
banking, door knocking, putting up signs and
running radio and print ads. “It feels good
when hard work pays off with a big win” says
Metro Council President Jos Williams. “We are
proud to support one of our own and look
forward to working with him on issues affecting
working families. I am confident that he will
do the right thing and stick by the working men
and women of Ward 5.” - report by Alya Solomon; photo of
