(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) named AFGE Local 476 the winner of their nationwide 2012 Communications Contest for Best Local Website. AFGE's Editor's Association congratulated Local 476 -- a Metro Council affiliate -- particularly web designer/editor Jerry Gross, saying that "your hard work and commitment to inform members and the public about the news and events related to AFGE is displayed clearly through your journalistic work.” AFGE said “judges were extremely impressed” with Local 476’s website and the local will be presented with an award at AFGE’s National Convention later this month.
