"Howard Four" Campaign Heats Up
Thursday, August 23, 2012
(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Supporters of the “Howard Four” are
stepping up their campaign against the recent
firing of four workers ("Fired
WHUT-TV Worker 'Disappointed' by Howard's Lack
of Compassion," UC 8/17/2012) at Howard
University’s WHUT-TV. NABET Local 31, which
represents the six-person unit, is calling on
local activists to join their “we expect
better” campaign by sending
an email to the WHUT-TV General Manager.
The local is holding another picket
today at noon outside WHUT-TV, and Local
31’s Darryl Moment will take
to the airwaves this Friday on WPFW at
9:30a to discuss the firings and ongoing
negotiations. For the back story on the firing
of the “Howard Four,” check out Pete
