Labor on the Move: Kathy Casavant Goes WILD

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)After three years of leading the AFL-CIO’s Governance, Organizational and Leadership Development team, Kathy Casavant (at right) leaving the AFL-CIO to become the Executive Director of the Women’s Institute for Leadership Development (WILD) in Boston. “Her prior experience as a union leader and a state-federation officer was invaluable in the work done with State Federations, Area and Central Labor Councils,” said Geri Prado, Deputy Director of the AFL-CIO Campaigns Department. “Her insight and steady hand helped to continue the important work of the AFL-CIO.  We are sad to see her go but are heartened to know she will be continuing the important work of developing the relationships necessary between labor and community to organize, support and train women in the community and in their unions.” Casavant can be reached at Kathy@wildlabor.org.
