Kaine to Rally NoVA Volunteers Saturday
Friday, October 19, 2012
(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Tim Kaine, the labor-endorsed candidate for the
US Senate in Virginia, will rally NoVA
volunteers at this
Saturday’s Labor-to-Labor walks (9a,
4536-B John Marr Drive, Annandale). NoVA
President Dan Duncan expects “another big
crowd” and reminds volunteers to please park
at McGill’s pizza parlor next door and to
“please remember to bring a canned or
non-perishable food item for our food drive for
Fairfax County public school students.”
Saturday’s walks will concentrate on the
Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William areas as
well as Fredericksburg. The NoVA Labor office
will open at 8:30a. “When walkers return to
the Annandale office, IUEC Local 10 members
will have the grills fired up with hot dogs and
hamburgers, and the buns are being provided by
BCTGM Local 118,” says Duncan. Fredericksburg
walkers will still meet outside Ryan’s
Restaurant at 1780 Carl D. Silver Pkwy,
Fredericksburg 22401, at 9a. Contact Vance
Ayres at 240-533-7625 or Melvin Carter at
540-455-6197 to let them know you’ll be
walking/knocking with them. “Special thanks
to sisters Dolores Gerber (CWA 2222), Roxie
Mejia (Painters DC 51) and Cecile Conroy
(Boilermakers) for all they do daily to keep
the NoVA Labor GOTV effort flowing!” adds a
grateful Duncan. Click
