Solidarity Center News: Workers Make Gains in Nicaragua, Bangladesh

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Nicaragua has become the third country -- after Uruguay and the Philippines -- to ratify the International Labor Organization (ILO) convention standard giving domestic workers the right to decent work. In Bangladesh, 250 garment workers at Zilani Apparels Ltd., in Rampura, Dhaka, are in the process of forming a union with the help of the Bangladesh Federation of Workers’ Solidarity (BFWS).
