Solidarity Center News: 28 Garment Factory Fires, 491 Injuries in Bangladesh Since Late November

The
deaths
of seven young women in a Bangladesh garment
factory over the weekend were the
latest fatal tragedies in the two months since
the blaze at the Tazreen factory
killed at least 112 workers. The fire at Smart
Export Garments marked the 28th
fire incident to threaten workers since the
Tazreen disaster. Over the same
period, at least 491 Bangladesh garment workers
have been injured on the job,
according to the Solidarity Center. Read
