Mike Murphy '09 Community Services Awardee

Mike Murphy, Business Manager for IUOE Local 99 is the 2009 Thomas M. Bradley Community Services Award winner. “A long-time board member of the Community Services Agency, Mike is always there for us,” says CSA Executive Director Kathleen McKirchy. “He and his local support all our fundraising events- the annual Golf and Bowling tournaments, Labor Night at the Nats- and he invites us to speak at stewards’ meetings to generate support from his members during the United Way and Combined Federal Campaigns.” Murphy (holding bowling ball) also actively supports the emergency assistance fund and holiday basket project and advertises CSA in the annual calendar provided to members of Local 99. “All that and more, Mike does with enthusiasm, an active sense of humor and a willing smile,” says McKirchy.
