Metro Council Hits Fenty Hard In Mailings And Calls
Tuesday, August 31, 2010(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
As DC’s mayoral
race enters the final stretch, the Metro
Washington Council has prepared a hard-hitting
series of mailings to union voters in the
District, who will also receive automated calls
from Council President Jos Williams. The full-color
oversize postcards -- which will be
mailed out over the next week -- blast Adrian
Fenty for being “out of touch with our
hard-working families” and making decisions
“behind closed doors” and encourage support
for labor-endorsed candidate Vince Gray in the
September 14 primary. “We need a mayor who
will stand with workers, not against us,”
says one postcard, “It’s time for a change
in city leadership, It’s time for Vince Gray
for Mayor,” says another. “We’re going to
make sure that every one of the 30,000 union
voters in the District of Columbia knows just
how bad Fenty has been for DC’s working
families, and that Vince Gray will be there for
us as mayor,” said Metro Council President
Jos Williams. Click

postcards.
