WHC Nurses Credit Council with Helping to Win Contract

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)“We couldn’t have done it without you!” exclaimed Washington Hospital Center nurse Geri Lee (at right in photo) at Monday’s Metro Council meeting. “Thanks to this Council’s support we won our contract,” Lee – joined by fellow National Nurses United members and RNs Dru Gist, Lori Marlowe and Alicia Rucker (l-r) -- told the Council delegates. “I’d never seen the kind of outpouring of support that we did during this struggle, with so many of you showing up at our rallies and picket lines. Thank you, Thank you!” SEIU 722's Dan Fields reported that his local's contract at WHC expires this fall and "things don't look good" and the local may be calling for support as well.
