Wine, Beer, Song & Solidarity at JWJ Awards Tonight

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Performances by women's a cappella group SongRise and performance artist Quique Aviles highlight tonight’s 9th annual DC Jobs with Justice "I'll Be There" Awards from 5:30-7:30p at the AFL-CIO. Labor and community leaders to be honored for their exceptional solidarity include Sarahi Uribe of the National Day Labor Organizing Network, renowned artist and activist Head-Roc, the Drop Daycon! Coalition at the University of Maryland and UFCW 400 members Knetra Byrd, Franklin Carter, and Eric Marshall. Wine, beer and light fare will be available.
