LABOR ON THE MOVE: Bryant Moving on to "New Adventures"
Thursday, July 7, 2011
(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Longtime
labor educator and activist Elise
Bryant is retiring from the National
Labor College. As of early September,
Bryant says “I will be transitioning to a new
adventure and will bid
farewell to my full time worklife at the
National
Labor College.” Bryant called her nearly
14-year career at the NLC “an
amazing ride -- full of exceptional learning
moments, wonderful classes,
great people and a sense that I was helping to
build a stronger, more
educated labor movement to pursue the goals
of equal justice, peace and freedom for
all.” Bryant – who will
continue to lead the DC Labor Chorus -- will
take a couple of month
breather to travel before “plotting a new
course and assuming a new
identity as mentor, teacher, healer and
spiritual counselor. Of course, none of those
titles are really new, but I'm making it
formal.” Reach her at
