CSA Emergency Assistance Fund Drained
Monday, July 11, 2011
(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The cupboard is empty. The need for help for
area workers is higher than ever but the
Community Services Agency’s Emergency
Assistance Fund has been drained, reports CSA
Executive Director Kathleen McKirchy. “No
contribution is too large or too small,” says
McKirchy, “but all are tax-deductible!”
Among those in need of help are members of
Teamsters Local 639 “who have been out on
strike for over 15 months against Daycon, which
refuses to negotiate and return the strikers to
work despite being ordered to do so by the
NLRB,” McKirchy adds. Make checks --
earmarked to the Emergency Assistance Fund --
payable to the Community Services Agency and
mail to 888 16th Street NW, Suite 520, DC
20006. “Labor Cares, Labor Shares,”
says McKirchy, “Thank you!”
