Electrical Workers Jumpstart Electric Vehicle Training

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)After securing a highly sought-after spot in the General Motors-sponsored "Train the Trainer" program in Chicago last April, IBEW Local 26 Assistant Director Ralph Neidert has finished the first round of Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training (EVITP) for JATC 26. “We are very proud to bring this dynamic new training to Local 26 and pleased to be able to continually keep our members on the cutting edge of the electrical industry,” says Local 26, congratulating Neidert and Local 26 JATC Director David McCord for “paving the way to the future for Local 26 members and contractors.” The training program – which facilitates training and certification for the installation of electric vehicle supply equipment across the residential, commercial and public markets -- was developed and sponsored by a lengthy list of partners, including General Motors, General Electric and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).
