Council Endorses Davis in PG County Council Race

Wednesday endorsed Derrick Leon Davis (second from
right) to replace Leslie Johnson as
Prince George’s County District 6 Council
member in the September 20 Special Election.
Davis “will stand with working families to
keep the doors of Prince George’s County
Hospital open,” said Metro Council President
Jos Williams (third from left), “work with
labor to create good job opportunities for
Prince George’s County residents, improve
public transportation by supporting the plan to
build light rail – the ‘Purple Line’
operated by WMATA – and champion progressive
school reform to improve student
achievement.” Most importantly, Williams
added, Davis “will honor the collective
bargaining process – a tenet that is at the
core of our labor movement.”
