(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The OPEIU Local 2 Unit at National Electrical Benefit Fund had a $5 foot-long hot dog lunch on August 17 to raise funds for the Metro Council’s Community Services Agency. “After expenses, we netted $140,” reports Chief Shop Steward Esther Brockert. “Thank you for your good work.” “Thanks to the NEBF unit for such a creative – and fun – fundraiser!” responds CSA Executive Director Kathleen McKirchy. “We’ll put the money right to work helping area union members in need and welcome creative ideas for fundraisers from any of our locals or supporters out there!”
