Occupy DC to March to NLRB, Verizon and Building Cleaner's Rally Today

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Occupy DC activists will connect with local
union members this afternoon in a major
solidarity march linking three ongoing
campaigns. The march kicks off at 3:30p at
Freedom Plaza, where Occupy DC just got its
permit extended for four months, then goes up
14th St to the National Labor Relations Board,
which is currently under attack from
Republicans in Congress. The march then
continues to the L Street (& 17th) Verizon
store for a solidarity stop with the CWA and
IBEW workers fighting for a contract, and then
moves on to Farragut Square at 4:30 pm (17th
and K St., NW) to support SEIU32BJ’s
“Office Building Cleaners Stand Up for Good
Jobs!” demonstration – which is expected to
be massive -- and invite them to the occupation
in Freedom Plaza. NOTE: Occupations are ongoing
