March Links CWA Verizon Struggle with DC Occupations

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)CWA will partner with occupiers at Freedom Plaza and McPherson Square today for a solidarity march  against Verizon. CWA president Larry Cohen will start the march off at Freedom Plaza at 5p and then march up to a Verizon store where CWA will continue its demand for a fair contract for its workers, who struck earlier this year. The march then continues through McPherson Square and on to the Chamber of Commerce as protestors demand job creation, ending back at Freedom Plaza at 6p, where participants are invited to stay for the General Assembly meeting.
