NoVA's Final Push for Pro-Labor Candidates
Friday, November 4, 2011
(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)With less than a week remaining before the 2011
elections, NoVA Labor is doing “all we can to
make sure our members and their families get
out and vote for the pro-Labor candidates,”
reports NoVA Labor President Dan Duncan. NoVA
Labor will be open for phone banking between
now and next Tuesday, and will have their
regular Saturday Labor-to-Labor walk this
Saturday starting at 9a. “Of course, we will
have coffee, juice, donuts and bagels before
you head out,” Duncan promises, as well as
lunch from Suzy Q’s BBQ. “A special thanks
to the volunteers who walked in rain, sleet,
snow and cold last Saturday,” Duncan adds,
“especially VA AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer
Ray Davenport and a shout-out to the gang from
IUPAT Council 51! Also, special thanks to
Bakery Workers 118 for providing the buns.”
