Daycon Strikers Not Forgotten

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The
14 remaining Daycon strikers (Daycon
Loses Another Round, Owes Workers Over $1
Million) have not been
forgotten. The Community Services Agency today
delivered food and funds
for all 14 Teamsters Local 639 members and
their families, donated
by AFGE 2782 members at the Census Bureau and
OPEIU 2 members at the National Electrical
Benefit Fund. “It’s been
a long and
frustrating struggle
for justice,” said Local 639’s Doug Weber.
“It’s so inspiring to see
such great solidarity from the local labor
movement.” Added CSA
Executive Director Kathleen
McKirchy, “This is
basic labor-to-labor solidarity at its
best.”
