Verizon Edges Out Walmart for Scrooge of the Year

Verizon was declared the 2011 “Scrooge of the
Year,” at the DC Jobs with Justice (JwJ)
Winter Cabaret last Saturday. Unsuccessful
Scrooge candidates included runner-up Walmart,
along with Solanges Vivens and the Capital
Grille. JwJ will “celebrate”
Verizon’s victory -- and the holiday season
-- by singing specially-adapted holiday carols
