Here’s today's labor history:
On this date in 1894, members of the American Railway Union, led by Eugene V. Debs, refused to handle Pullman cars, in solidarity with Pullman strikers. Two dozen strikers were killed over the course of the strike.
Today’s labor quote is by Eugene Debs
Eugene Victor Debs, one of the founding members of the Industrial Workers of the World, and five times the candidate of the Socialist Party of America for President of the United States, who said “There can be no defeat for the labor movement.”
