Jeff Vogt; Legal Director of Solidarity Center and former Chief Counsel of ITUC; helping create International Lawyers Assisting Workers, a global network of union and worker rights lawyers ( HOUR 2: Senator Jennifer McClellan (VA): Update on the campaign to pass the Equal Rights Amendment in Virginia, providing the 38th ratification. Lance Compa; Senior Lecturer at Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations in Ithaca, New York, where he teaches U.S. labor law and international labor rights. Earamichia Brown; An attorney by day, Brown is a member of the New York City Metro Mod Quilters Guild and a board member of the Quilt Alliance. She created the “A Woman's Worth: Equal Pay for Equal Work” quilt, part of Dr. Carolyn L. Mazloomi's exhibit and book "Visioning Human Rights in the New Millennium; Quilting the World’s Conscience" Mark Dudzic; National Coordinator, Labor Campaign for Single Payer Among the 48 original signatories to the declaration, the United States is the only advanced industrial country in the world that does not treat healthcare as a basic human right. Our friends at Healthcare Now have produced this short video that shows how the United States stands in violation of this foundational document defining essential human rights. It's time to put an end to this injustice. MUSIC "Human Rights" Kids for Global Peace Official Music Video There is an exciting new program in the works called KIDS FOR GLOBAL PEACE that is designed to teach young people about Human Rights, Human Dignity & Respect, and Peaceful Conflict Resolution. The program features electronic comic books and games, two minute public service announcements, an interactive website, and more written by Joy Berry (author of 240 self-help books for kids that have sold over 85 million copies) on behalf of the American Red Cross, Amnesty International and the United Nations.
