Fighting Unjust Firings: D.C. workers spoke out about their experiences when fired unjustly at the Employment Justice Center’s Community Speak-Out last Saturday. The EJC workers’ committee interviewed more than 200 DC workers for their report on the impact of being fired, which they identified as an “extremely significant issue in the fight for fair treatment of workers in the District.” photo (right) courtesy EJC Twitter feed “What does a union do?” “How do we build power for workers?” “How has the labor movement shaped US history?” A new class, “New Young Staff - finding your way and your voice in the labor movement,” will answer these questions as the labor movement begins to reflect the workforce with more young staff.
