Registration is now open for the Community Services Agency’s 28th Annual Golf Tournament! Register your team to play on Monday, September 22, at Enterprise Golf Course in Mitchellville, MD. A banquet luncheon will follow the tournament. All proceeds benefit CSA’s Emergency Assistance Fund for union members. Registration closes September 3! Register your team today.
September 7: Union Day @ The Commanders
On September 7, join the Community Services Agency for Union Day at the Washington Commanders to cheer on Old DC versus the New York Giants. All ticket sales include a donation to the Community Services Agency. To purchase tickets, email Chris Ortega at the Washington Commanders.
Nominate a leader for CLUW DC's Gloria T. Johnson Awards
CLUW DC is now accepting nominations of dynamic women and femme labor organizers, leaders, and activists in the DC area labor community for their outstanding work in our movement. Submit a nomination by August 4.

UNITE HERE Local 23 calls for boycott of food service venues at U.S. House
Food service workers at the U.S. House of Representatives, organized with UNITE HERE Local 23, have called for a boycott of some Capitol complex restaurants — demanding that incoming dining subcontractors maintain the previous union-negotiated base pay and benefits. Union members are calling on lawmakers, staff, and all visitors to boycott six of the new venues: Starbucks, CHA Street Food, Jimmy John’s, Common Grounds, Java House, and PX Tacos. Read more »
Walters Art Museum workers unanimously ratify first union contract
It took two years, but it was worth it. On Wednesday, workers at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore unanimously ratified their first union contract, with AFSCME Maryland Council 3. The contract includes improved benefits and rights on the job. Read more »
