Starbucks workers nationwide on strike

Unionized Starbucks baristas with Starbucks Workers United authorized and launched an open-ended unfair labor practice strike on November 13, protesting more than 700 unresolved unfair labor practice charges and demanding a fair first union contract. In the days since, workers have organized pickets at stores across the country.

House lawmakers unite to force vote on bill to nullify anti-union Executive Orders

This week a bipartisan majority of lawmakers in the House pushed back against the largest single union-busting effort in U.S. history, forcing the Protect America’s Workforce Act to a vote on the House floor. With the 217th and 218th signatures provided by Rep. Nick LaLota (R, NY-1) and Rep. Mike Lawler (R, NY-17), the House will get a chance to vote in support of federal workers’ union rights. Workers at DC concert venues win voluntary union recognition

Workers at the 9:30 Club, The Anthem, The Atlantis and Lincoln Theatre have won their unionization efforts. Ownership company IMP notified staff last week that the company would voluntarily recognize the employees’ desire to form a union with UNITE HERE Local 25. Read more » 


Workers at Battle's/RHG are strike-ready

Last week workers at Battle's Transportation, Inc. + RHG Group, Inc., organized with ATU Local 689, overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike if necessary to win a fair contract.

Workers demonstrated their resolve and that they will not back down from this fight!


2025 Holiday Basket Program now open

Referrals and donations are currently open for the Community Services Agency's 2025 Holiday Basket Program. The annual program, now in its third decade, is designed to make a family’s holiday season a little bit brighter. Make referrals for the Christmas season by Friday, December 5, or contributions to the program by Friday, December 12.
