In D.C., your employer may not discriminate against you based on your race, color, national origin, sex, pregnancy, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, marital status, family responsibilities, personal appearance, political affiliation, genetic information, or because you are enrolled in school. You have the right to workers’ compensation benefits if you are injured on the job. Employees with injuries arising out of their work and who are unable to work are eligible for workers’ compensation benefits, which generally include payment of two thirds of any wages missed due to injury and payment of all medical bills related to the injury.
