Long after the last ball has rolled and the final pin fallen, CSA’s Bowling for Gold tournament continues. Teams collect pledges to support the Community Services Agency’s (CSA) Emergency Assistance Fund and this year the team with the largest dollar amount of pledges was the Bricklayers’ "Living on a Spare" -- which included Tim Haut, Mike Fitzpatrick, Eva Miller and Bobbie Haut – and which raised an impressive $660. The individual with the largest dollar amount of pledges was the Brick’s Bobbie Haut (at right in photo), who brought in $490. "These pledges, which this year raised over $8,000, enable us to serve even more union members with much-needed financial assistance during times of hardship,” said Executive Director Sonte DuCote. “We appreciate the time and effort it took to collect pledges by all the teams that participated this year!” "The deadline for reserving tickets and program book ads for this year’s Evening with Labor is just a few days away and we have yet to hear from many locals," says Andrew Washington, MWC 1st Vice President and Acting President. "I strongly urge you to get your local’s reservations in now." The reservation form is posted here and can be downloaded and emailed in; call Chris at 202-974-8153 or email [email protected] "Evening with Labor is a night that we all look forward to every year, an opportunity for us to celebrate our solidarity, honor those who have distinguished themselves (like ATU locals 689 and 1764, pictured here, two of this year's Golden Picket Sign winners) and also just to have a good time together," Washington adds. "I look forward to seeing you there and thank you for your support!" The Mississippi civil rights activist was murdered in 1955, just a month after he rallied black voters, saying
"Pray not for your mom and pop. They've gone to heaven. Pray you can make it through this hell." Reverend George W.
