OPEIU Local 2 last week ratified one of the largest salary contracts for their members at the Maryland Transportation Administration (MTA). In addition to a 20% increase over four years -- with 10% of that this year – the deal includes a $1,700 signing bonus and a supplemental bonus of $1,050. “We upgraded about five classifications too,” said Local 2’s Mike Spiller. Also included is an attendance bonus of $800, with multiple incentive bonuses for unit wide attendance. Local 2 represents about 160 employees in the MTA offices, payroll and accounting and mobility call center.
