On this Veterans Day, let’s remember the Union Veterans Council, which brings working-class veterans together to speak out on the issues that impact them most, especially the need for good jobs and a strong, fully funded and staffed VA.
Additionally, the Union Veterans Council holds private enterprise and elected officials accountable for their words and actions. They believe wholeheartedly that the ability for someone to self-identify as “pro-veteran” isn’t determined by what lapel pin they don or what catchphrase they employ; veterans face real issues that require real actions—constructive actions that lead to positive solutions. The Union Veterans Council fights every day for those who have fought for us. They’ve pushed way too hard against workers; that income inequality is at its greatest level again and people are just looking at that. And people are starting to fight back. And in fact, many unions I talk to—I just had the president of TWU in—they’ve been increasing membership in their union. And a lot of unions are doing that. And the popular support; we’re at one of the highest moments again for public support especially among people like millennials which is where the future is going to be.” Listen to State of the Unions wherever you get your podcasts.
