1199 SEIU and its allies have won after “taking the fight to Annapolis” (UC, 3/19), securing overwhelming support in the State Senate for same-day voter registration. Maryland voters will have the final say in November, when the constitutional amendment will be put on the election ballot. The amendment does not require the Governor’s signature to become law.
