AFGE 1456’s Hot Cocoa and Coats Drive
The members of AFGE Local 1456 collected more than 200 coats in their first annual “Hot Cocoa and Coats” drive. “Through the tremendous outpouring of support we were able to provide local families in need with winter coats, hats, scarves, mittens, and other winter items,” said Francis Nichols, Y.O.U.N.G. (Young Organizing Unionists for the Next Generation) coordinator for the local, whose members work at Pretrial Services Agency for the District of Columbia. “We look forward to continuing to be able to serve those members of the community who may be in need of assistance and support.” said Nichols. “The caring community of labor and member’s donations make it all possible!”
