![]() The American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO (AFGE), on Friday elected then-AFGE District 14 National Vice President Eric Bunn Sr. as its new National Secretary-Treasurer. AFGE represents 700,000 federal and D.C. government employees. “I am truly grateful for the trust and faith that has been put in me as I assume the position of AFGE National Secretary-Treasurer,” Bunn said. “I look forward to working together with the entire National Executive Council to further strengthen our federation’s finances and address the many challenges being faced by our members.” Bunn began his career in public service at the D.C. Department of Housing and Community Development, where he quickly rose to the position of Local President of AFGE Local 2725. A labor activist for over 25 years, he was first elected as National Vice President of AFGE District 14 in 2013, and has since been re-elected to three-year terms twice, in 2014 and again in 2017. AFGE’s District 14 represents federal and D.C. government employees in the D.C. metropolitan area and those stationed overseas in Europe. He's also served on the Metro Washington Council's Executive Board, most recently as Treasurer. “National Secretary-Treasurer Bunn brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this position,” said AFGE National President Everett Kelley. “I am excited to welcome him to the team, and I look forward to working together with our new National Secretary-Treasurer and the entire National Executive Council to meet the urgent needs of our members.” Comments are closed.
