 AFSCME Maryland congratulated its latest class of shop stewards last Friday. ‘These members stepped up to represent their workplaces and learn how to enforce our contract and be the union in your workplace,” the union reported on its Facebook page. Shop stewards are volunteer leaders in the workplace who communicate updates to co-workers, enforce the contract at the worksite level and organize to solve workplace issues.
