Months of negotiations yielded a tentative agreement for 2,800 workers at Shoppers Food & Pharmacy on Wednesday. “Together with our union leadership we stuck together, didn’t give up, and got the best deal possible,” said Keith DeWitt, a UFCW Local 400 bargaining committee member who works at store #2646. “Our hard work has paid off.” A vote on the deal will be held on November 25. “We earned this contract through our actions in the stores,” said Chartel Scott, a Local 400 bargaining committee member who works at store #2653. “I’m proud of the strength we showed through this long process.” |
